llms.txt is a short plain text file that introduces a site to AI powered search tools, in the same spirit as robots.txt but written for language models rather than crawlers. This tool gives you a form for your brand name as the heading, a one paragraph summary quoted at the top, an optional detail paragraph, and sections where you list pages by title, address and a one sentence description. Everything you type turns into the recommended Markdown layout as you fill in the form.
The tool checks a few details on its own: every link needs a full address starting with https, the summary must run to one to three sentences, and no link description can be left blank; it flags anything missing before you download. If your site already has an llms.txt file, paste its contents in and the form fills itself back in, so you edit an existing file rather than starting from a blank page. The preview also shows how many sections and links you have added.
llms.txt is not yet an official standard, only a proposal that some AI companies have started to support; there is no guarantee any given crawler reads it or gives it any weight, so it does not replace robots.txt or your sitemap for traditional search engines. The file is built entirely in your browser and nothing you type is sent anywhere. If your brand details change often you will need to regenerate the file and publish the new copy yourself, the tool does not keep a live version on your server.

Is llms.txt an official standard?
No, it is not yet an official standard, only a proposal that some AI companies have started to follow. Any given crawler may or may not read it, and none is obliged to.
Does it replace robots.txt and sitemap.xml?
No, it replaces neither. robots.txt tells crawlers which paths they may visit and sitemap.xml lists your addresses, while llms.txt only gives AI tools a summary of your brand and content.
Is the information I enter stored anywhere?
No, the form runs entirely in your browser and nothing you fill in is sent to a server. Closing the page clears the form, so copy the text somewhere first if you want to keep it.
I already have an llms.txt file, what should I do?
Paste its contents into the load field and the tool parses it back into the same form. You can then add or remove sections instead of writing the file again from scratch.
