Meta Tag Generator
Fill in title, description, Open Graph and Twitter fields, then copy your meta tags instantly.
This tool builds meta tags from scratch, unlike the meta preview tool which reads an address and shows tags a live page already has; nothing is fetched here. The form covers a page title (50 to 60 characters ideal, with a live counter), a meta description (120 to 160 characters ideal), a canonical address, a language, robots options such as index or noindex and follow or nofollow, Open Graph details including type, site name, image address and a suggested 1200 by 630 size, a Twitter card type, a theme colour and an optional author.
On the right you see a live preview: Google's desktop and mobile result card, cutting the title at roughly 580 pixels and the description at roughly 920 pixels, measured with actual character width through canvas rather than a fixed character count; it also shows how the social sharing card will look. The output comes in two tabs: HTML tags ready to paste into `<head>`, and a Next.js metadata object for React projects; whatever you type is escaped automatically when it lands in the HTML, so quotes or special characters never break the markup.
The cut off point in the preview is only an approximation; Google's actual result can break at a different spot depending on device, font and the search query itself, so the character counts here are guidance rather than a guarantee. This tool does not place the tags on your page for you and cannot confirm they render correctly once published; for that, run the address through the meta preview tool after your page goes live. It also does not check whether your title clashes with another page on the same site.
FAQ
How is this different from the meta preview tool?
Meta preview takes an address and reads the tags a live page already has; this tool reads no address at all and builds new tags from what you type. Use it for a page that has not been published yet.
What is the ideal length for the title and description?
Around 50 to 60 characters for the title and 120 to 160 for the description are generally considered safe before Google's result gets cut off. The live counter changes colour as you approach those limits.
Is anything I enter saved anywhere?
No, nothing is sent to a server; the preview and the generated code are all built in your browser. Leaving the page clears whatever you typed.
How do I know the tags actually work once I add them to my page?
After publishing, paste that page's address into the meta preview tool to confirm the tags render as expected. This tool itself never writes anything to your page, it only produces the code for you to copy.
