This tool builds a standard sitemap.xml from a list of addresses or from a CSV file with address, lastmod, changefreq and priority columns; paste lines directly or drop in a file. Options include stamping every address with today's date as lastmod, assigning a default changefreq and priority, removing duplicate addresses automatically and sorting the list alphabetically; the interface also reminds you that Google does not take those last two fields into account.
The tool checks that every address is a full URL and that all lines share the same domain; a mix of http and https, an invalid date, unescaped `&` or `<` characters, and closing in on the 50,000 address limit are all flagged. The result screen counts how many addresses were accepted, how many were dropped as duplicates and how many were invalid. Copy the output or download it as `sitemap.xml`; past 50,000 addresses the tool builds a sitemap index with split files automatically.
changefreq and priority are part of the sitemap format, but Google's own documentation says it ignores both fields when deciding how to crawl a site, so filling them in will not change your rankings. This tool does not check whether the addresses actually exist, return a 200 status or are blocked by robots.txt; for that use the broken link checker or the robots and sitemap audit tool. Everything runs in your browser, your address list is never sent to a server.
FAQ
What happens if I have more than 50,000 addresses?
The tool splits the list into parts automatically and builds a sitemap index that links to each part file. Just upload every downloaded file to your server.
Should I fill in changefreq and priority?
They are optional; Google's own documentation states it does not use these two fields as a ranking signal. You may still want to fill them in for other search engines or internal tools.
Is my address list stored anywhere?
No, whatever you paste or upload is processed only in your browser, no address is sent to our server. Refreshing the page clears the list.
How do I know the addresses in the sitemap actually work?
This tool only formats the file, it does not test whether the addresses actually load; use the broken link checker for that. It is worth checking a few addresses by hand before adding the file to robots.txt.
