ROAS and Ad Calculator
Work out ROAS, CPM, CPC and your break-even point from spend, clicks and revenue, with the formulas shown.
Tool
The ad calculator turns your spend, impressions, clicks, conversions and revenue into advertising metrics. Fill in the figures you have and the rest are calculated: cost per thousand impressions (CPM), cost per click (CPC), click-through rate (CTR), conversion rate, cost per conversion, ROAS, ACOS and average order value. The same page has a break-even section and a planning section that finds the clicks and budget needed for a target number of conversions.
The formula sits under every result; for example, ROAS is revenue divided by spend, while ACOS is spend divided by revenue. In the break-even section you enter your gross profit margin as a percentage, and the tool gives break-even ROAS as 1 ÷ margin and break-even cost per conversion as average order value × margin. An ad whose ROAS falls below that line, or whose cost per conversion rises above it, loses money at the margin you entered. The tool sets no good or bad threshold.
The calculation rests only on the figures you type in, and their accuracy depends on the data in your ad account. The tool does not know which channel the revenue came from, the attribution window, or any cost you leave out, so enter a margin that already has those costs taken off. The planning section works from assumptions and cannot promise a real outcome. This is a rough estimate; ask a professional about tax and accounting decisions.
FAQ
What is the difference between ROAS and ACOS?
ROAS divides revenue by spend and ACOS divides spend by revenue, so each is the inverse of the other. For example, a ROAS of 4 means an ACOS of 25 per cent.
How is break-even ROAS calculated?
Divide 1 by your gross profit margin; for example, a margin of 20 per cent gives 1 ÷ 0.20 = 5. Below that ROAS, the ad spend is not covered by your margin.
What counts as a good ROAS or CPC?
There is no single right value; it changes with the product, the market and your margin. The tool gives no benchmark, so use the break-even figure from your own margin and your past campaigns as the yardstick.
Are the figures I enter stored?
No. The calculation happens entirely in your browser; the figures are never sent to a server or stored.
