Tool

This tool shows the address you use to reach the internet the moment the page opens, and tells you whether it is IPv4 or IPv6. The same screen lists details read from your browser: browser and version, operating system, screen resolution, viewport, pixel ratio, browser languages, time zone, whether cookies are enabled, touch screen, colour scheme and reduced motion preferences, and online status. Each row can be copied with one tap.

An IPv4 address is four numbers separated by dots; an IPv6 address is groups of hexadecimal digits separated by colons. Which one you see depends on your internet connection. Both are normal and neither is better than the other. The summary button at the top copies every row as plain text, which is handy for pasting into a support request. If you resize the window, the viewport row updates by itself.

If you use a VPN or proxy server, the address you see is theirs. An IP address alone does not show who you are or exactly where you are, and this tool shows no location, city or service provider, because we have no verifiable data for it. On a shared network, other people may use the same address. To find out who an address belongs to, ask your internet service provider.

FAQ

Is my IP address stored?

Your IP address is information that already reaches our server when the page opens. It is only shown on screen, not stored, and no location is derived from it. Browser and screen details are never sent to the server.

Why is the address on my phone different from my home device?

Your public IP address is set by your internet connection. If the phone uses mobile data, it shows a different address from your home connection.

Which address shows while a VPN is on?

The address of the VPN or proxy server. To see your own address, switch the connection off and reload the page.

Does this tool show my location?

No. We cannot derive a verifiable location from an IP address, so we do not show a city, country or service provider.
